Zone 2 Cardio - Debunked? | What is Zone 2 Cardio with Mark Sisson
Переглядів 89 тис.Рік тому
Mark Sisson shares his thoughts with Brad Kearns on the surging interest in "zone 2 cardio." Most conventional fitness wisdom will tell you that you need to break up your week in a regimented manner, spending a specified amount of time in different heart rate zones. But how necessary is that really? Is our obsession with zones just the latest revival of chronic cardio? Hear what Mark and Brad h...
Happy 16th Birthday, Mark's Daily Apple

17 years ago, my friend and mentor Art Devany asked me to write a couple fitness articles for his website. I did. “Escape from Vegan Island” and “The Case Against Cardio” got such huge responses from his readers that I decided to start my own blog. 16 years later, I’m still going strong. I’m not really a sentimental guy, but I’m feeling very emotional right now. This blog was a personal revelat...

Sir can you please tell if we have to do these stretches wearing shoes? And what is the ideal time gap between healing of the pains and starting intense activities like dancing if I continue with this exercise?
0: 15 it an exercise although it helps to train to increase the weight force has the negative side since oblige the subject to hold the inclination and to have very low air fase. The air fase is fundamental to transfer the increased weight force from a leg to other leg...cycling does not emulate the sprint motion even because has no progressive overload and no air fase..I think it is one of those exercise made part of training in sprint useful as to hit the air...the point is not the duration of reps or the time of pauses rather 1. The best exercise with progressive overload who allow to produce that ideal increment of weight force and also abke to be transfered to other leg 4:35 and 2. The correct technic
the real question is how much testosterone do you inject?
My endurance friends think we sprinters are just lazy! They know nothing 😊
Bro I got my PFT tomorrow 😅😕😭😭😭
He is great inspiration 👏
Untill you've had P F - you've no idear of this pain...it's like walking ALL day with a Bruise on the sole of your foot...each other step you take - hundreds- thousands a day....And the only relief is too not walk - but how can you do that - you can't - you have to walk to survive daily life.....
Salmonella party
Not needed and waste of time
I noticed that since I used the calf machine, I didn't have pain when I got up this morning.
Let's goooo I'm gunna do this before bench press 😌
Such a great man, very humble and determined to help humanity. My best wishes to Dr Unwin in reversing diabetes for thousands if not millions of people.
You just ran like a Lady.
So sprint for 10-20 seconds, rest for 60 seconds?
“Calories BURNED vs calories STORED” 👏🏽
I remember Mark from his interview on Doug Kaufman’s show!👏🏽
It’s 3am. I'm getting ready to run away from home
Thank you.
So sexi pose. 🤡🥒
His shoes look ugly
This video is not highly enough rated. This solved my problem. I picked up a slant board for it. I also started using that slant board for many other things to great effect. Oh, and this little metal thing called a fascial scraper.
1:6 ratio works for me. Im a XC skier and Im using my classic skis with poles on astroturf. Tough as you have to consider some technique and balance, but way easier on joints as skis are cambered
Excellent video! Thanks
sobre las cartas la mesa, toda verda dotor bisman!
It’s all Hirt for me, hirts all over every time
Hi!!After the first day of stretching ( 4 stretching a day) I am overjoyed to say I am finally able to stand on my feet for more than just a few minutes
Definitivamente este ejercicio se hace entre 2 personas y empujan para adelante y para atrás Yo me sumo para hacerlo contigo con respeto amigo ♥️
Dating is about looks, chemistry and destiny. Some men who are minority will not find love with a Caucasian woman because women from this race have the DNA Code of an Anglo and they simply will not date out side their race. June 9, 2024 USA
i feel seen .
Hi, it looks great! How many times do you recommend doing it per day?
great video! helped me alot. still not gonna try to outrun a gorilla
This is everything I needed to hear today. Life-changing stuff! So is your Primal Blueprint, which started my path to natural health a decade ago. Thank you! 🫀
This is called recess haha. Make RECESS great again!!!
Do these for muay thai, they're great, but I get this like burning myopathy pain in my flexor when I do this and I get concerned..
Thomas DeLauer had a video debunking the excess protein turning into glucose. This guy is uninformed
Watching this I was highly skeptical that this would 'heal' my plantar fascitis. I had been suffering for about 7 weeks with no healing taking place. I am amazed to say that after doing this for just 2 weeks it has actually worked, and I am blown away, and hugely grateful. I am back running again and just finished a 7k run. I had done stretching as recommended by other videos, but I think the difference here is to hold the deep stretch for 2 mins or more. I have been doing this 4 or 5 times a day since watching the video. I am basically healed at this point, with only very mild lingering soreness that is reducing day by day. I have done 6 runs in the last 6 days, gradually increasing the distance. I want to say a huge thank you. ❤ To people reading this skeptical of my comment, I can only say that I hardly ever comment or like UA-cam videos, and have specifically gone out of the way to find this video again to leave this comment, as I can scarcely believed this worked, and so quickly.
Zone 2 is the max I ever do to get in shape. I can do longer distances and longer training sessions. I even last longer at work than people who do high zones for lower amount of time. Also.. it doesn't destroy me knees so I can train harder in lifting
I am in hospital ready to be discharged
Terrific suppose you are in shape to get there or start there where is that link below never find it
Got mind from riding a bicycle quit riding went away
Not sure why, but i just can’t get my heart rate to 80% in 20sec. Anyway to achieve this?
Didn't want to spoil the video, but you actualy mixed up the labels. Bent knee -> Gastrocnemius is out of the equation since the insertion of both his heads are lowered towards Tibia -> you stretch Soleus with that one. Straight knee -> Gastrocnemius is elongated by pulling away the muscle insertions from the tibia -> gastrocnemius stretch Best regards, Slaven, sport therapist
Is it advisable to perform more intervals, say up to 10 or 12 once we are accustomed to doing 8. Or is this too taxing for our bodies?
Can you just quit talking so much
Me watching after the marathon
I tried sprinting the other day and pulled both quadriceps. How can I slowly work up to sprinting safely?
Wow. I've been doing them wrong (shoulders flared out) for 50 years. No real shoulder pain. And at one point I was up to 60 consecutive. I'm going to try the thumbs forward thing, but I like to do them on my knuckles, not palms. Anything wrong with that?
Mark sisson you are the friggin GOAT sir. You were key in changing my life 8 years ago
When I do these stretches I’m not feeling any stretching or pulling. Am I doing these right.
This video not so useful
